A mixed start to the season we have played two games we played liscard at lingham park and Ashville away Plymyards.
A win in the first game with goals from John 2,Karl Joel and an own goal this gave us a 5-3 win. A good opening performance from the lads going 4-0 up then liscard capitalised on a mistke to make it 4-1, we make it 5 -1 then two goals in the closing stages for liscard the last a poor clearence out only to be blasted back from a good 45 yards, with our keeper out of position good finish by the lad.I have to say that the liscard keeper was outstanding with some fine saves. I think on the day though we deserved the win. Well done lads.

ASHVILLE.
This game I can only describe as a really good game of football from both teams end to end, no bad tackles but competative from the first whistle. Both tams start well trying to create the first goal we had come the closest in the first 15 mins with Ashville breaking fast with some great defending from Aaron to keep there big bustling striker in his pocket also Chappo playing a good sweepers role, playing the ball into midfield to start some good passing moves as we created some good chances that we should have put away only for the Ashvilles goalkeeper making some fine saves, as john and adam went close on a few occations. 25 minutes in, a good move from are opponents. A long ball into the box, bad clearence to the edge of our area. The number 10, unmarked, fires a great shot past Tom's outstretched arm, 1-0 down. Are heads don't go down and we start to put pressure on the Ashvilles back four. We win a freekick 35 yards out to the right of the penatly area, Karl sends a great ball into the 6 yard box, where it drops onto Adam's foot, who makes not mistake umarked to rifle the ball into the back of the net, 1-1. Still end to end play both back fours playing well, clearing any danger. We play a good move played up the left, ball out from luke W, Liam recieved the ball directly to his feet, turned the defender well, and unlieshed a great through ball to john who took the ball in his stride to go past the centre half, from a tight angle the ashville goalkeeper comes out and tries to narrow the angle but johns fine finish places it underneatth the keepers body, to see the ball hit the back of the net, 2-1 up, which we deserved on the balance of play. Coming into the last 5 minutes of the half, some sloppy defending, ashville midfielder no 10 scoring his second of the game, similar to his firsrt strike, again unmarked at the edge of the box, makes no mistake levels the score, 2-2. Half Time.
SECOUND HALF.
Both teams start the half determined to take the lead, chances at both ends, good tackles flying in from both teams, again both back fours playing really well. We concede a couple of corners Tom claims the crosses well. The football being played is a joy to watch from both sides. Wecreate a good few chances, but just can't get the goal to take the lead, as we make the Ashville lads shoot from distance. Joel and Karl working hard in the middle of the park trying to play John and Adam in but the Ashville back four clearing any danger. No goals as the half progresses. A battling performance from both sides the Ashville no 5 having a brilliant game at the back not putting a foot wrong. The game coming in to the last 10 mins looking like a draw. Asville break ball cleared about 25 yards out Ashville midfeilder lets a tremendous shot go,the ball drops under our cross bar the flight of the ball catches Tom out and flies into the back of our net 3-2 down. Last few minutes we can't get it back as Ashville play out time from a corner and a clearance that nearly reached rock ferry. What a good game though from both sides. well played lads as on the balance of play from both sides I think a draw would have been a fair result but well done to the Ashville lads taking the game in the last 4 mins.

FIRST HALF.
The game kicks off right from the first whistle Vauxhall set about the game as if there was only going to be one winner a performance of power, determination getting first to the ball all over the pitch. We try hard to get in the game we get forward but the Vauxhall centre backs not putting a foot wrong John and Adam trying to create space but are both tightly marked. Karl and Joel working tirelessly in the middle of the park trying to get us forward. We were creating chances but vauxhall were just too fast on the break forcing Tom to pull off some great saves to keep us in the game. Vauxhall breaking fast up their right putting pressure on our back four the winger gets to the bye line crosses in we don't clear, looked like the ball goes in off Aaron 0-1 down. We try to get forward the vauxhall back four soak up any pressure and clear the ball. 15 mins to go to half time similar move up the right ball played in to the box we don't clear vauxhall forward slots the ball home 0-2 down. Within a couple of minutes ref awards vauxhall a penalty for handball against Aaron, none of the vauxhall lads appeal and think its gone out for a corner. They miss the spot kick. We get forward just after the penalty a quick through ball to John who races forward to beat the onrushing goalie to lob the ball into the back of the net, good finish. 1--2 Half Time.
SECOND HALF.
Vauxhall start the half determined, we just could not hold the ball up and keep posession as again they were first to the ball constent pressure as we try to stay in the game. Vauxhall play some fast direct football trying to play in the forwards we concede the 3rd goal from a great shot outside the 18 yard area, which just went under our keepers body 1-3 down. Our heads go down as we can't get through a well disciplined back four with an outstanding perfomance from the vauxhalls number 6. We concede a further 3 goals to make the final score 1-6. A powerful perfomance from a very good side. They did not allow us any time on the ball they chased and tackled quick, first to the ball all over the park and deserved to take the points on the day.
EASTHAM RANGERS LEVERS 6.00PM KO
A good game from both sides eastham with a narrow victory on the night.Eastham started the game well playing the long ball We had to soak up some pressure Eastham take the lead from a long ball played up to the striker who takes it past Andy and slots the ball past Tom, Eastham take the lead 0-1. Joel and Karl trying hard to get us going. Eastham working hard all over the pitch making it difficult for us to get in the game. 10 mins from the half time whistle we break forward the ball played through midfeild a fine pass to John on the shoulder of there last defender shows pace gets to the ball first with a deft chip over the outrushing goalkeeper the ball in the back of the net 1-1. Eastham still playing the long ball they break forward, Joel allows his man to run past him into the box and with a fine finish fires the ball past Tom to take the lead Half Time we go in 2-1 down.
SECOND HALF.
Right from the whistle Eastham come out in determined mood playing the ball to feet instead of pumping the ball long, playing some lovely football up there right pileing on the pressure. they create some great chances on goal but Tom pulling off some brilliant reaction saves as we struggle to get into the game. At times it looked like one way traffic we just could'nt hold the ball up when we got forward. Eastham break again up the right no tackle, winger to the corner flag a fine cross to the far post. Andy does'nt make the challange and a free header, Toms picking the ball from the back of the net 1-3 down. Our heads don't down as we get forward and come back into the game as we create a few chances. We win a corner only half cleared Karl just inside the box fires a great shot between goalie and full back on the post, hits the back of the net 2-3. Then we create four good chances to get the third goal was'nt to be Aaron over the bar from 8 yards out. Adam bursts forward past two defenders and rounds the goalie only to see te ball just go the wrong side of the post. On the balance of play Easthams second half perfromance it was a joy to watch the good passing and fast attacks up the right side they deserved to take the points on the night but a gritty performance from us and with a bit of luck could have sneaked a draw.

This was a good perfromance by the lads today. With a couple of lads away we had to resuffle the team. Joel went to centre back with new siging Andy making his debut in midfeild. We started positive playing the ball to feet using both wings, With Karl and Adam playing some good passes from midfeild also winning the 50-50 balls, spreading the play to Sammy who had a very good game wide on the right going past the full back and playing the ball in to John and Josh, making some good runs to get on the end of some good moves. John in particular holding the ball up to play people in. Heygarth trying hard to get forward but a solid display from Luke and Joel at the back clearing any danger. Then the breakthrough good play to set Josh off past the defender to give the Heygarth keeper no chance good finish, 0-1 up. Going forward now making chances Josh going close again some good saves by the heygarth keeper. John working hard gets his reward ball played into John who picks his spot bottom right see's his effort hit the back of the net 0-2. A few minutes sees Karl play a one two with Adam, Karl lets fly with a tremendous left foot shot from 30 yards, keeper no chance 0-3 Half Time.
SECOND HALF.
Well in control as the half progresess playing some good football Heygarth again try to get forward but a strong display by the back four and some fine handling from Tom keeps our goal intact. Getting forward down both wings with Adam and Josh making chances that should have been put away. It was left to Karl to score his second and third of the game to produce a fine hat trick with further goals from John and finally Josh getting on the score sheet after to two glaring misses over the bar and hitting the crossbar twice once in the first half and again in the second half although I thougth this was Josh's best game so far showing control and pace, just needs to finish off his chances. In the final 10 mins a good ball played wide to the right Heygarth's winger takes the ball past Andy to the bye line good cross Billy does'nt clear lets it slip to the forward 6yard box taps the ball home 1-6. A good performance from the lads today controlled the game and created chances that should have gone in. Credit to Heygarth they battled to the final whistle and scored a consolation goal Final Score 1-6

FIRST HALF.
We travelled to green lane to play one of this seasons newcomers to the league this season. Within a minute of the kick off a goal down, a throw in on our left one pass through to the edge of the box lad on his own takes the ball on gives Tom no chance. Hopefully we will wake up. They pile on some good pressure up there left wing getting into the box we defend quite well with Aaron having his hands full with there big striker who is putting himself about. We concede three corners as we clear only to the edge of the box or just beyond, a waverton player unmarked everytime fires the ball back on goal only for Tom to tip over the bar. We start to settle and get a grip moving the ball forward creating chances, three times we move the ball from right to left to send Sammy away in on goal some excellent covering by the waverton centre back forces sammy to the corner flag but we should have done better. Waverton's movement was fast and there lads working hard but chances were falling our way, ball played out from the back good ball through from Adam sends Josh on his way he takes the ball in his stride creates his space and unleashes a unstoppable shot giving the keeper no chance 1-1. Its shaping up into a good game both sides creating chances but both back fours coping well. Then a good move see's John put through just edges out the defender and shoots top left hand corner, keeper makes a great save to push it over the bar. The half coming to a close, I have to say the movement and workrate of our opponents is the diffrence between the two sides as we go in, although chances created from both sides in the first half. 1-1 Half time.
SECOND HALF.
A few changes at half time, we start to move the ball well at times but then give up possestion to easily, putting us on the back foot again. About 10 mins in waverton get forward, ball played into our box Jake about to clear Tom shouts for the ball does'nt get a hand to it, forward nicks in 2-1 down, a bad goal to concede. Then we seem to get the ball in midfeild trying to play John in but waverton pack the defence with players to hold on as they edge infront. We get forward but can't break down some dogged defending as the waverton lads clear the ball upfeild. A long ball out from waverton's defence just drops for the forward who runs with the ball a good 15 yards with Aaron and Jake to the right of him and Billy on his left as they all run towards Toms goal, no tackle and I think one of our lads said keep going and you will put this in!!! what a bad goal to concede, not taking anything away from the forward who finished very well I don't think he will get an easier chance all season. 3-1 down. We kept going trying to break through the waverton defence who at times had 8 and nine men behind the ball protecting the lead. All credit to them they are still working hard. There job done as we seem to have a lot of the ball playing some good football at times trying to create a chance. We give the ball away up our right waverton's tricky little winger goes past 4 tackles good job he ran out of pitch. Our Generosity not over yet as we concede a corner, ball cleared again to the edge of the box player unmarked fires home waverton's fourth of the game 4-1. Time running out again we get forward ball played into John wide goes past the defender and plays a good pass to Karl who makes no mistake fires it past keeper and defender on the line 4-2. Only a minute left, ref blows for full time. A dissapointing performance, in particular the goals we conceded. Credit though to the waverton lads they worked hard all game and deserved the victory on the day.

Mixed fortunes in our last three games. First up Shafts. This was a good performance from the lads at home with a convincing 3-1 score line, the goals coming from a fine run from Josh using his pace to outrun the defender and give the keeper no chance. The second from a corner ball cleared only to the edge of the box, Aaron chests it down before the ball hit's the ground a thunderous right foot volley into the top corner of the net, keeper never moved. Great finsh from the lad. 2-0 half time. SECOND HALF. Shafts try to get into the game but with some fine defending we keep them out. John creating chances all game but think he left his shooting boots at home as chance after chance goes begging. Final 10 mins he gets his reward a fine goal from the edge of the 18 yard area, he turns past the defender on the left hand side of the box, creates space and lets fly an unstoppable shot top right hand corner of the net. On the balance of play I think we deserved the win but we need to put chances away that we created

Start of the half term week 5 players out on internationl duty. Start the game well against the newcomers to the league, soaking up some pressure in the first half and defending well, also making a few chances. Adam and John working hard up front. 0-0 10 mins to go to half time, we break from the back a fine pass from the left Josh takes the ball in his stride a good 25 yards out, In all the way as soon as it left his right boot, keeper no chance as he is rooted to the spot, 0-1 up. Ridgeview going close but still defending well and clearing any danger. 30 seconds to half time ridgeview break down there right ball crossed in from the corner we don't clear forward nips in ball in the back of the net 1-1 ref blows for half time.
SECOND HALF.
The goal we let in before half time was dissapointing but the next four we conceeded were even worse. Ridgeview started the half just bombarding our back four with long high balls as soon as we clear the ball it comes striaght back. We lose our shape at the back. Middle of the park missed out completly and the ball pumped into our half putting us under pressure. Luke after having a good first half is caught in two minds and does'nt deal with a couple of balls played through,We give a penalty away Tom brings down the forward as he bravely dives at the strikers feet, penalty given. 2-1 down. Our only real chance of the half we hit the bar from a well taken free kick. Ridgeview don't sit back they get the ball forward another mix up, the ball in the back of the net 3-1 down. Our heads had gone down. constant pressure. ridgeview corner no one attcks the ball, a fine header Tom no chance 4-1. Towards the final minutes ridgeview chalk up there fifth of the game 5-1`Full time. A good powerfull 2nd half performance from the newcomers deserved the win on the day. Dissapointing not to defend better against the long ball.
SHORE VILLA. home.
This was a decent game to watch both sides playing some good football. Both sides creating chances shore villa having the best of the chances in the first half, but with a good defensive performance from both sides Joel and Aaron at the heart of our back four and the centre back for shore villa playing well. Both sides looking capable to take the lead. Tom,s handling superb today also making some good saves. The first half still goalless although on the balance of play i think the shore villa lads had the better chances to take the lead, we also went close with John and Adam creating some scoring oppertunities, Karl and Billy going close also. A good first half from both sides, we go into half time 0-0.
SECOND HALF.
Same as the first half both sides start well, playing the ball to feet, chances again falling to both sides. I think whoever gets the first goal will take the game, as both sides still defending well. shore villa win a few corners but Tom commands his area well, his handling superb. Still no breakthrough as the half proceeds. We start to move the ball forward Karl working tirelessly moving the ball forward trying to play Adam and John in on goal. John fires a left foot drive just over the bar good effort. Adam working hard closing players down getting some good tackles in. A fine pass from Billy into the area John shoots keeper makes a good stop. Still 0-0 15 mins left a good move forward ball played into john who could have passed to Andy on the overlap but turns inside just on the edge of the box beats his marker, plays a fine chipped pass over the centre backs head in to Adam's path, keeper comes forward Adam makes no mistake to place the ball under the keepers body and into the net 1-0 up. Shore villa get forward looking for the goal to get them back in the game, but we defend well and clear any danger coming to the last five minutes its like the alamo villa desprate to score, but we get bodies behind the ball and clear the ball. 3 mins left we break from the back, ball played into Adam just passed the half way line Adam shows his electrfying pace to leave the defender standing, into the area makes no mistake and fires a great shot past the villa keeper. good finish. 2-0 up. A good game from both sides the result could have gone either way on the day. Well played lads.
POULTON VICS Home Levers 4.
This was a good game two sides playing some good football from the first whistle. Vics starting the brighter, making some good chances as we tried to get to grips with the game. 15 mins in vics get forward down the left some a good individual run by the vics winger he gets to the bye line and passes into the area, we don't clear ball at the vic's forwards feet makes no mistake and passes the ball into the back of the net 1-0 down. We start to settle and try and move the ball forward vics back four playing well clearing the ball upfeild, we don't get tight enough, vics playing the ball to feet, a fast break they get to the edge of the box no challange, vics forward does well gets to the ball first and places it into the left side of the net past Toms dive 2-0 down. Adam off, Jake into the back four we push Aaron up front, we get the ball forward as we start to wake up Aarons first touch takes it past the defender tries to get a shot off vics centre back gets a tackle in chance gone. We finish the half getting forward a good move from the back. Joel moves forward with the ball a good pass to Karl who plays a great pass into the vics half, Aaron away runs from the half way line only him and the keeper, he takes the ball forward to many touches edge of the box gives the oncoming keeper a chance to get a good block another good chance goes begging. We end the half 0-2 down.
SECOND HALF.
The half starts with both sides passing the ball to feet, good football from both sides and some end to end chances as we defend better than the first half and get the ball forward trying to get back into the game. Vics still getting forward but we pick the ball up and play some good passing moves but we can't make a breakthrough as the vics lads defend well. Karl starts to pick his game up and goes close but a great save from the vics keeper as he goes past three challanges gets in a good shot, and at full stretch the keeper pushes the ball round the post. We had a number of chances in the half just could'nt finish them off, with a couple of excellent saves from the vics keeper also. Luke gets the ball in the net only to be caught offside, goal dissallowed. Time running out, no luck infront of goal as the game ends. A good performance from the vics lads as they played some good football and i think vics deserved the win on the first half performance. I think we had the best of the second half chances but could'nt put them away. Well played to the vics lads on the day.
VAUXHALL Away Rivacre park.
Away at the league leaders. This was a really good game, the football played by both sides was a joy to watch. We started well taking the game to the home side right from the first whistle, both sides defending well with Joel and Aaron playing well at the back, likewise the two central defenders for vauxhall's, chances created by both sides. Adam and John lively up front giving their back four a torrid time as we move the ball forward playing the ball into feet with some fast first time passes. Vauxhall also getting forward with their lively striker making some good intelligent runs to create his space but Aaron sticking to his job. Our midfeild also working hard getting a foot in. Realy nothing to choose between the two sides, Vauxhall also relying on their long throw into the box to try and create, but we defend it well. Moving into the last 10 mins still 0-0, Vauxhall win a corner, ball played in Danny does'nt claim the ball drops into the box, we do'nt clear, ball ends up in the back of the net 1-0 down. Right from the restart we get forward after winning the ball in the middle of the park a good through ball into Johns feet, passed forward between the two defenders, right hand side, Adam shows pace takes it into the box round the keeper and fires home into the empty net a great move and finish, 1-1. We go close again just before the h.t. whistle as we move the ball forward another great run by Adam, he see's his powerful shot from the edge of the box leave the keeper rooted to the spot only to cannon off the crossbar and over. With both sides creating some good chances in the first half we go in at half time 1-1
SECOND HALF.
This half begins with us taking the game to Vauxhall we play some good football putting them on the back foot, confident passing as we get forward looking to take the lead we go close with some good shots on goal the keeper making some good saves to keep us out. Vauxhall playing some good passing moves also, they move the ball well up their right with the tricky winger getting forward at times creating chances. Karl wins the ball in the middle good ball through to Sammy first time pass into John again who sends Adam through to score a brilliant goal giving the keeper no chance, 1-2 up. Which I think on the balance of play we deserved to take the lead. Then a great chance falls to John on the penalty spot as the ball played in from Adam's cross just gets stuck between his feet and the chance has gone. Like all good sides Vauxhall start to make progress up there right wing they don't give in trying to get back in the game, they gain a corner played in same as the first half. We don't clear again it falls to a vauxhall player who puts it away, another goal from a set play 2-2. We keep playing as chances fall to us still. Going into the last 10 mins
another corner for Vauxhall only cleared to the edge of the box player unmarked places a fine shot into the far corner of the net. dissapointing to conceed the three goals from corners but the Vauxhall lads kept going and take the points. It was a good game, football from both sides brilliant. Well played
GLENAVON. Home, Levers, Cheshire Cup 3rd Round
Good result last sunday, against the league leaders in the wallesey junior sunday league.
FIRST HALF.
Both sides start the game playing good football, creating chances, with glenavon nearly taking the lead after some sloppy defending only for Tom to pull off a great save to deny the visitor's. We get forward also, glenavon defending well. Karl and Luke trying to control the middle of the park getting the ball up to Adam and John both working hard to create an opening. John tries a long range lob from just inside glenavons half which just narrowly goes past the post. The ball played from the back into Karl with a first time pass into Johns path one on one with the keeper heavy first touch by John gives the keeper a chance to bravely dive at his feet to gather the ball on the edge of the penalty area. Glenavon get forward with a few good chances but some wayward shooting and some solid defending from our back four keep our goal intact. 0-0 going into the last 10 mins of the half. Ball won by Luke in midfeild plays a good pass forward to Andy with a good touch on the ball to wrong foot his marker creates space to send a good pass into Adam, he takes the ball on, a strong run takes him past the centre back creates space and lets go an unstopable right foot shot into the back of the net from the edge of the box past the despairing dive of the keeper, 1-0 up good finish from the lad. Half comes to a close as we go in with a 1-0 advantage.
SECOND HALF.
Glenavon start determined to get back in the game with some good moves up there right again we defend well with a superb performance from Dave at left back he wins nearly every tackle and header he goes for. We weather the spirited fight back from the glenavon lads with some great defending from our back four, Joel and Aaron not putting a foot wrong as Glenavon send in a fine cross from the left Tom does'nt claim it, falls to the striker but a fine tackle from Aaron clears the danger. We get forward with some fine passing moves from the back. Danny bringing the ball out from the back playing with confidence getting Billy into the game as we try to increase our lead. Adam going close also John testing the keeper. Karl battling hard in the middle of the park, with a tireless display as he seemed to be all over the pitch. We start to create a few chances as we play some good first time passes. Playing the ball wide to Billy he sends in a few crosses but glenavon defend them well. Just over the hour a good move from the back, good pass into Adam leaves his marker and plays a fine pass into John right hand side of 18 yard box, John takes it past the defender just inside the box and fires the ball home past keeper and near post. Good goal, 2-0 up. Glenavons heads seem to go down at this point. Nearing full time John played in again to fire in a great shot but a tremendous save by the keeper sends the shot over the bar. A good performance from the lads today. I think on the football played and chances created we deserved to take the tie. A spirited performance by the glenavon lads you can see why they top the wallesey league table, and good luck to them for the rest of the season.

ELLESMERE PORT 4th Round Cheshire Cup. After a two week posponment we finally get the game played away at whitby rec.
FIRST HALF.
The game kicks off we dont start too well as the port lads knock the ball about putting us under pressure in the first 10 mins. We then start to settlle and play some good football down the left with John working hard trying to make things happen as we make a few good chances but no end result. Aaron off injured, Luke into the back four, Sam on. Both teams playing end to end stuff it is starting to become a good football match. 15 mins in good move from the port play the ball through Joel looks a cert to clear but slips as he is put under pressure from the forward as the ball goes past him, the striker makes no mistake and fires past Tom we go 1-0 down. We try everything to get the goal back as chances go begging. The half continues with both sides playing some good football. We go in half time 1-0 down.
SECOND HALF.
We start determined and play some good football putting the port under pressure but they defend well and clear the danger tackles flying in from the port lads as they concede free kicks just outside the 18 yard box and in the middle of the park. We still cant make the pressure tell Adam trying hard to make things happen as he works the ball down our left going past the full back and getting the ball into the box but the port's back four hold firm with the centre back having a brilliant game. We go three at the back and push Joel into the middle of the park. At times its one way traffic as we go in search of the goal to get us back in the game. We get a number of free kicks and corners, but can't make them count. Then as we move the ball down the left again Adam in possesion can't make the pass loses the ball they catch us on the break with a fast move through midfeild wide to there left ball played in, we don't clear its in the back of the net 2-0 down. We don't give in as we are still going forward. We get a goal back as Karl hits the back of the net when he creates space in the box and fires it home. 2-1 still looking for the goal to take us to extra time as the clock running down, last five mins. good chance again falls to Karl as he tries to place the ball in the far corner through a crowded penalty box but the keeper makes a great save and pushes the shot past the post brilliant save. last chance as the final whistle is blown. HEYGARTH UTD. Back to league action after christmas break. Home, Levers 4.
FIRST HALF.
We start the game well playing some good football using both sides of the pitch, with hegarth playing one up front, the middle of the park quite congested with the hegarth bodies behind the ball they rely on the long ball which nearly came off once as the forward chases down the pass onto the edge of the box, Tom out fast to just get a foot on the ball and clear the danger. We play the ball out from the back up our right playing some good first time passes as we try and breakdown heygarth's dogged defending. As they get the ball forward Aaron and Luke at the back clear any danger and play the ball out into the middle of the park, Joel and Karl working hard and winning the ball, playing some good passes up to John and Adam also bringing Sammy into the game wide on the left. Sam has a great chance to open the scoring after a good move he is played in unmarked but can't finish. Still putting the pressure on as Danny ,Andy and John get the ball up our right, John goes close with a shot from a tight angle,over the bar. Hegarth defending well in numbers as we go in search for the opener. Free kick just over the half way line David takes it short to Adam, John makes the run past the centre back great ball through, onside John slots it into the back of the net giving the keeper no chance good goal 1-0 up . Heygarth still dig in as the game becomes a bit scrappy as we still defend the long ball and defend well as heygarth get forward. Our back four no putting a foot wrong and playing the ball out with confidence. Joel and Karl winninig the battle in midfeild and moving the ball forward to feet as we look to increase our lead. 10 minutes before half time a good move from the back forward to Andy who plays a first time pass inside to John who keeps the move going as he plays the pass to Karl just on the edge of the area plays a great pass to Sammy unmarked left hand side of the area, he makes no mistake this time and fires a great shot into the back of the net 2-0 up. Heygarth don't let there heads drop and keep going. The ref blows for half time. We go in 2-0 up After playing some good football.
SECOND HALF.
Heygarth start the half trying to get back in the game as they push men forward, we defend well as Aaron havig a solid game at the back winning nearly every header as the ball is lofted forward with Luke just mopping up. We keep playing the ball to feet going forward, we put pressure on the heygarth back four but they defend well and clear. We start to make chances but some fine saves from heygarths young keeper keeps them in the game as Adam, John, Karl have good chances to increase our lead. Danny and Andy make way for Billy and Josh to come on. Another good move puts Billy in put he screws his shot wide. Heygarth still battling hard as they get forward but they can't breakthrough. We win a corner right hand side short pass to Josh on the edge of the box, hits it first time with power just over the bar if it had gone in i think it would have taken the net with it. Credit to heygarth there heads did'nt go down as they put in a battling performance but i think on the balance of play we deserved to take the points as the chances we created in the second half we might have had a few more goals only for the fine saves from the heygarth keeper who had an outstanding game between the sticks, well played. Four games in after the enforced winter break and i think we have started the season again in hibernation, three defeats and a victory against heswall.
First we played a very good ridgeway side who started the game fast we did not know what had hit us as we were 3 goals down in the first 12 minutes a mountain to climb but we dug in and woke up but could not break down a very good back four. There job done they just soaked up the pressure 2nd half an uncharacristic mistake by Tom, free kick 20 yards out slipped through his grasp and into the net. Ridgeview ran out 4-0 winners on the day. Next up Shore villa away 3-0 down within the first 20 mins again started slow but two mistakes at the back did'nt help our cause as the mistakes were finished off into the back of the net, villa's first goal finished superbly. We battled again but a great performance by the villa lads as they took the game 3-0. Next Eastham Rangers in the top cup this was a good game again we just lose out 2-1 but it was a very good game to watch as we took the lead 1-0 through Luke our new signing as he put the ball in the back of the net on his first full debut for us. A good goal after some fine passes. The lead shortlived as a sloopy throw in straight to the opponents in on goal forward gives tom no chance 1-1. 2nd half we play some good football but again good defensive play by the eastham lads clearing any danger we go 2-1 down but still keep playing the ball to feet as we make a few chances, the break just wont come as eastham defend and get the ball clear up the park. In the dying mniutes, ball played out from the back, Joel picks it up just over the half way line goes on a run, going past players gets to the edge of the box three players round him he gets a shot off under pressure just to see it go the wrong side of the post and no chance of extra time. A good game from both sides, good luck to Eastham hope you go all the way to the final.
HESWALL
A good win for the lads after a dissapointing run of matches, played well against a heswall side who battled well but on the day we created the chances and put them away first half both sides creating chances as we go 1-0 up from a good goal by John as he gets infront of the defender and meets the cross giving the keeper no chance but the heswall lads kept going trying to get the goal back, although we had gone close on a few occasions with adam hitting the cross bar after a fine run, the best of the chances. Heswall get there reward as they put us under pressure and get the equaliser just before half time a great shot giving Tom no chance we go in all square 1-1
SECOND HALF
We start the half playing the ball to feet as we get forward down or left a fine run from sam into adam ball crossed in John meets the ball with his head to glance the ball into the bottom right of the net 2-1 up
heswall seem to lose there way a little, as there passing goes astray and we gain the upper hand moving the ball round well. 10 mins in, the goal of the game as karl is played in 25 yards out and lets fly a tremendous left foot shot that hit the back of the net like a rocket, the heswall keeper did'nt move 3-1. Heswall keep going trying to get the ball forward but we defend well. Josh then gets on the score sheet with a fine run creates his space and gives the keeper no chance with his sixth goal of the season 4-1. Scoreing not finished as we get forward again this time sam played into the box from the left he sets himself and fires the ball home beating the keeper on his near post 5-1. A good win on the day well played lads.
ASHVILLE
Another good win today. A good game to watch when both sides settled after a scrappy first ten minutes when the ball was in the air more than it was on the ground. both sides started to play the ball to feet as chances are created from both teams. Ashville get forward and waste two good chances as both efforts sail over the bar, we are also making chances as we get the ball forward. Adam goes close as does josh as we get the ball into the asville penalty area. The lads working hard all over the pitch joel and karl winning the ball in the middle of the park. Aaron and luke jones playing well at the heart of our back four, defending well. 10 mins before half time we play the ball from the back a fine ball from andy into adam first time pass to josh he creates space right hand side of the box and fires a great shot beats the keeper on his near post hits the inside of the post and in the back of the net 1-0 up. Not long to half time as adam is played in again only to shoot over the bar a good chance missed as the half ends.
SECOND HALF.
The half starts as ashville pile on the pressure from the whistle we defend well and get the ball clear, altough for the first ten minutes it seemed the ball was never out of our box but we defend well as asville win a few corners but toms handling superb on the day. We start to get the ball forward as we put some good moves together the ball played up to adam out wide he gave the full back a torrid time all through the second half. A good move up our left, ball played into john behind the centre back one on one with the keeper who does well to narrow the angle john goes for the shot but inches wide. Ashville still playing the ball forward a great pass between aaron and luke j. the forward in on goal aaron tries to get in but is judged by the ref to have pulled him back, penalty given. The ashville lad steps up and slots the ball home 1-1. They pile on the pressure as some of our defending at times was woefull, but we survive as we clear two eforts off the line with luke j. being in the right place to clear. We start to get the ball forward and create are own chances. karl has a great effort which hits the crossbar. Ball thrown out from tom to danny he plays the ball to, adam he takes it forward passes into john who holds the ball up and plays a good pass into karl who makes no mistake with a fine finish as we take a 2-1 lead. This seemed to take the fight out of the ashville lads as we gained the upper hand five mins later we go futher I think on chances created we shaded it on the day but taking nothing away from the ashville lads some sustained pressure in the second half it could have been a much closer game. Credit also to the stand in qualified ref from the ashville camp who had a superb game and was fair to both sides. Well played lads.
