FIRST HALF

The game kicks off straight from the off the lads played the ball round with confidence, as we create chance after chance on our opponents goal. John and Josh l making good runs onto some fine passes through from our midfield of Karl, Joel, David and Billy. The rangers lads try and get into the game with some good moves and create a few chances but our back four defend well and make their forwards shoot from distance, Danny in goal his handling superb. Every player working hard as we look for the opening goal. Karl going close with a couple of long range efforts just over the bar we win a free kick about 20 yards out Karl with a tremendous shot cannons off the cross bar with the keeper beaten one of our best chances. It seemed like one way traffic at times we did not let the rangers lads settle on the ball our back four moving out fast making there forwards work hard so as not to be caught offside by the linesmen's flag. Both sides playing some good football and chances at both ends. The ref brings the first half to an end; both teams go in goalless 0-0.

SECOND HALF.

We told the lads to carry on playing the ball to feet and out wide and the goal would come. Joel, Karl and David gain the upper hand in the middle of the park working tirelessly in the tackle and moving the ball round with pace, Billy wide on the left giving there right back a torrid time as we try and get the opening goal still no joy. The ranger’s lads trying to get into the game make a few good moves only for Aaron and Luke at the back not putting a foot wrong some great defending. To keep them out. Both full backs Andy J and left back Dave V both playing some good balls out of defence with David putting in some great tackles and headers as the rangers try to attack down there right. I am sure both sets of supporters will agree it was a very exciting game as there is a sizeable crowd watching. Still no goals as we near full time on the balance of play in normal time I think we were the better side creating chances and playing some good football, but the rangers lads not out of the game yet as we head for extra time. 0-0, Full time.

EXTRA TIME.

Both teams start determined to take the game chances falling again to both sides John who had worked hard all game again going close with a great run up the right past 2 defenders to cross for Billy who blasts his shot over the bar, we go close a few times, rangers keeper making some good stops. The ranger’s lads get forward also making a few chances going close also but our back four and Danny, who had a brilliant game between the sticks, clear the danger. Penalties looming as extra time is nearly over rangers get forward down the left good cross into the box forward just gets a head to the ball looks a goal past Danny's outstretched hand but into the side netting. PENALTIES We pick our five players. Joel, Karl, Luke, Jake, John. We take five superb penalties giving the keeper no chance, they missed one. We win the cup 5-3. It is hard to write what a good final this was from both teams. Well done to both sides a great game. Well played lads you deserved the win. John named man of the match also Aaron both mentioned by the league representative watching the game.
