CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PLAYERS

 

  1. Play because you want to, not because you want to please your manager / coach
  2. Always show respect to your manager / coach and team mates
  3. Develop a relationship of trust and respect with your manager / coach
  4. Show due respect towards match officials at all times and opposing players, managers / coaches and supporters
  5. Speak to your manager / coach at the outset and understand what is expected of you during the game
  6. Always play the game to the best of your ability and play fairly. Do not condone any violations of the laws of the game
  7. Constantly display high standards of behaviour on and off the field
  8. Be modest in victory and dignified in defeat
  9. Encourage your team mates at all times
  10. Do not use inappropriate language(foul, abusive or offensive) 

 

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

 

  1. Parents should appreciate that their son(s) / daughter(s) involvement in junior football should be for his / her personal enjoyment at all times
  2. Praise positive aspects of play at all times and avoid ridiculing young players by focusing on their failings
  3. Place the well being and safety of your son(s) / daughter(s) above all considerations, including the development of performance
  4. Adhere to the Victoria Colts Junior Football Club and your teams associated football junior league guidelines at all times
  5. Develop a supportive relationship with manager / coach, based upon mutual trust and respect.
  6. Show due respect towards match officials at all times and opposing players / managers / coaches and there supporters
  7. Do not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward
  8. Encourage and guide your son(s) / daughter(s) to accept responsibility for his / her performance
  9. Co-operate fully with managers / coaches at all times
  10. Help to promote fair play within the game
  11. Emphasize to your child the importance of “trying” to win and not winning itself
  12. Do not use inappropriate language (foul, abusive and offensive)

 

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR MANAGERS / COACHES

 

  1. Manager / coaches must respect the rights, dignity and worth of  every person and also treat every person equally within the context of the sport
  2. Managers / coaches must place the well being and safety of their players above the development of play
  3. Managers / coaches must develop an appropriate working relationship with players, based on mutual trust and respect. Managers / coaches must not exert undue pressure to obtain personal benefit or reward
  4. Managers / coaches must encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour
  5. Managers / coaches must ensure the activities they direct or advocate are appropriate for their age, maturity, experience and ability of the individual
  6. Managers / coaches should at the outset clarify with players and parents exactly what is expected of them and what players and parents are entitled  to expect from their manager / coach
  7. Managers / coaches should always promote the positive aspects of the game (i.e. fair play) and never condone rule violation
  8. Managers / coaches must constantly display a high standard of behaviour and appearance
  9. Accept the decisions of the match officials without protest at all times
  10. Show due respect towards match officials and others involved in the game including opposing players, managers / coaches and their supporters
  11. Adhere to the Victoria Colts Junior Football Club and your teams associated football junior league guidelines at all times
  12. Managers / coaches should seek to acquire a minimum of an F.A junior team managers certificate
  13. Do not use inappropriate language (foul, abusive and offensive)
