CODE OF CONDUCT
FOR PLAYERS
- Play
because you want to, not because you want to please your manager / coach
- Always
show respect to your manager / coach and team mates
- Develop
a relationship of trust and respect with your manager / coach
- Show
due respect towards match officials at all times and opposing players,
managers / coaches and supporters
- Speak
to your manager / coach at the outset and understand what is expected of
you during the game
- Always
play the game to the best of your ability and play fairly. Do not condone
any violations of the laws of the game
- Constantly
display high standards of behaviour on and off the field
- Be
modest in victory and dignified in defeat
- Encourage
your team mates at all times
- Do
not use inappropriate language(foul, abusive or offensive)

FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
- Parents
should appreciate that their son(s) / daughter(s) involvement in junior
football should be for his / her personal enjoyment at all times
- Praise
positive aspects of play at all times and avoid ridiculing young players
by focusing on their failings
- Place
the well being and safety of your son(s) / daughter(s) above all
considerations, including the development of performance
- Adhere
to the Victoria Colts Junior Football Club and your teams associated
football junior league guidelines at all times
- Develop
a supportive relationship with manager / coach, based upon mutual trust
and respect.
- Show
due respect towards match officials at all times and opposing players /
managers / coaches and there supporters
- Do
not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward
- Encourage
and guide your son(s) / daughter(s) to accept responsibility for his / her
performance
- Co-operate
fully with managers / coaches at all times
- Help
to promote fair play within the game
- Emphasize
to your child the importance of “trying” to win and not winning itself
- Do
not use inappropriate language (foul, abusive and offensive)
CODE OF CONDUCT
FOR MANAGERS / COACHES
- Manager
/ coaches must respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person and also treat every person
equally within the context of the sport
- Managers
/ coaches must place the well being and safety of their players above the
development of play
- Managers
/ coaches must develop an appropriate working relationship with players,
based on mutual trust and respect. Managers / coaches must not exert undue
pressure to obtain personal benefit or reward
- Managers
/ coaches must encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for
their own performance and behaviour
- Managers
/ coaches must ensure the activities they direct or advocate are
appropriate for their age, maturity, experience and ability of the
individual
- Managers
/ coaches should at the outset clarify with players and parents exactly
what is expected of them and what players and parents are entitled to expect from their manager / coach
- Managers
/ coaches should always promote the positive aspects of the game (i.e.
fair play) and never condone rule violation
- Managers
/ coaches must constantly display a high standard of behaviour and
appearance
- Accept
the decisions of the match officials without protest at all times
- Show
due respect towards match officials and others involved in the game
including opposing players, managers / coaches and their supporters
- Adhere
to the Victoria Colts Junior Football Club and your teams associated
football junior league guidelines at all times
- Managers
/ coaches should seek to acquire a minimum of an F.A junior team managers
certificate
- Do
not use inappropriate language (foul, abusive and offensive)
